The Tourette Syndrome Association of Greater New York State is an affiliate chapter of the national Tourette Syndrome Association, Inc. TSA, Inc. is a national voluntary health organization dedicated to identifying the cause, finding the cure and controlling the effects of TS. Research programs, professional and public education and individual and family services are made possible through the generosity of its donors.

TSA of Greater NY State was founded in 1984 by six volunteers from the Buffalo area. It was originally founded under the name of the Western NY Chapter and until this year we maintained that name. Over the 21 years that we have been in existence, we have gradually taken on the major part of New York State and therefore recently voted to change the chapter name to more appropriately describe the area that we are serving.

We serve an area from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border to the south. There is a Greater Rochester TSA Chapter that serves the greater Rochester, NY area. Our chapter then picks up from Rochester and continues east to serve Syracuse and all of the central, NY area, Binghamton and all of the central southern region, Albany and all of the capitol district area, Watertown, Potsdam, Governeur, Canton, Malone, Ogdensburg, Plattsburg and all of the Adirondack region in Northern New York State.

We currently have 3 support groups in western NY, central NY and the Utica area. See the Support Groups page for further information.
